When Dreams Come True
How we created magic at the intersection of beauty and Disney animation
-
A once-in-a-lifetime convergence: Charlotte Tilbury's 10th anniversary meets Disney's 100th celebration. This wasn't just another beauty collaboration—it was a chance to make history.
-
In March 2023, our journey led us to the hallowed halls of Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California. What followed was a 10-month creative odyssey that would transform how beauty brands collaborate with entertainment icons.
-
Create something that had never been done before: merge Charlotte's beauty magic with Disney's animation legacy in a way that honoured both brands' transformative storytelling power.
-
Deep immersion into both worlds:
• Extensive research into Walt Disney's legacy
• Analysis of classic Disney animation techniques
• Study of both brands' transformative narratives
• Collaboration with Disney legends
• Blend of traditional animation and modern beauty -
• Eric Goldberg - Legendary Disney Animator/Director
• Dorothy McKim - Iconic Disney Producer
• Matt Easton - Photographer
• Steven Hore - Live Action Director
• Edward Gibbs - DOP
• Jack Flanagan - Set Design
• Ann Moyse - Art Director
THE EXECUTION
A groundbreaking campaign that spanned: Classic hand-drawn animation by Disney legends • Live action mixed with animation (Mary Poppins style) • Global OOH including Times Square and Disney Parks • TV ads worldwide • Disney+ and Hulu presence • Theatrical release across UK and USA • Selfridges first Charlotte Tilbury Corner Shop
Inspired by collage scenes of live action mixed with animation a la Mary Poppins, our key visual of Charlotte took elements created by Walt Disney Animation Studios to create our hero advertising.
